Set amidst the beautiful Five Sisters of Kintail this cosy cottage offers you the chance to visit Eilean Donan Castle (famous as a location in the Highlander films), Plockton, Isle of Skye, Applecross, Torridon, and further afield Loch Ness, all providing you with some of the most outstanding scenery Scotland has to offer.
The famous Eilean Donan Castle is a 5-minute drive away and a little further afield is the picturesque village of Plockton. Visits to Applecross, Torridon and Skye are a must as is the spectacular drive to the Glenelg ferry via the Mam Ratagan Pass, stopping to visit the Iron-Age Brochs and the fabulous walk to Sandaig, the inspiration for Gavin Maxwell's book "Ring of Bright Water". You can also take the ferry to Kylerhea to visit the "Otter Hide" nearby. Do stop to visit Corran, a hidden jewel on the route to Glenelg. Not to be missed are the National Trust's Woodland Gardens at Balmacara and for a special day out, Loch Maree and the tropical gardens at Inverewe. For the bravehearts a hard day's walk to the Falls of Glomach takes you through the most breathtaking scenery.
For eating out there are several quality restaurants and hotels in the area. Award-winning restaurants in Plockton, a hotel and inn at Dornie and restaurants in Glenshiel and Kyle of Lochalsh.
Provisions can be bought in Inverinate. A small swimming pool, banks, Tourist Information Office, chemist and other shopping facilities are available in Kyle.
